Research & Advocacy

WAR works to gain full understanding of the causes and effects of rape and other gender-based abuses.  Information gathered will be used to inform the organization’s programs and to stimulate legal reform, policy reform, and changes in processes and practices. We advocate for disadvantaged groups in our communities and network with other service providers, locally, nationally and internationally.

Economic Empowerment of Women

In order to reduce the economic dependency of survivors and potential victims of abuse, WAR provides access to skills training, business training, and marketing skills courses.

Perpetrator Rehabilitation

As part of WAR activities to reduce gender-based violence, WAR assist both victims and perpetrators. WAR contacts the perpetrator when complaints are reported by clients. WAR offer counselling, conflict resolution services and anger management sessions.
WAR also offers rehabilitation to convicts of sexual offences. WAR helps perpetrators gain insight into their behaviour and aim to correct it.
